Title: Agreed Value...
Post by: Macer on July 27, 2008, 07:25:10 PM
Anyone know what insurance companies do agreed value cover?

I know that Sky used to do it, but they\'ve stopped!! Need to sort this out in the next week or so, so it would save a lot of random phoning around if anyone knows of a company that does it :)

Suggest search for AoN Insurance in Dudley. They do our FB on agreed but you need a 2nd car to do it

Will they keep thier side of the deal David, Yogibears experiences so far makes me wonder if it\'s worth the paper it\'s written on, (if they can find it!) my insurance is due, and it\'s difficult to know what to do for the best, certainly not staying with Elephant!

Yeah, should have mentioned - I\'d already called Aon. Unfortunately, although we\'ve got another car in the household, it\'s my girlfriends, so it\'s not insured in my name so it doesn\'t count :2Rolleyes

ro284 - I know what you mean (although I don\'t know what happened with Yogibear). I guess you don\'t find out what any sort of insurance cover is like until you need it, and it\'s too late by then!! But, as long as it doesn\'t add too much to the premium I\'d definitely go for it. Hopefully I\'ll never need it!!

Any other suggestions aside from Aon?

Used to have a tuned mini on agreed value with adrian flux, never had to claim on it though so can`t comment on how good it was! but one to check out.

What a absolute nightmare!! Beautiful car as well. Hope he gets it sorted. It\'s bad enough having your pride and joy trashed without the insurance company p***ing you about as well... It just shouldn\'t work like that

Cheers Gary, I\'ll give them a try.

Girlfriend? Wife? Partner? Our FB is insured in the wife\'s name (it\'s her car), The other car is insured in my name. As long as you are a named driver on the second car I think that\'s the way it works.

Yeh, wow just read all of Yogibear\'s troubles. I can only say that you need to see the words \'Agreed Value £xxxx\' on the Policy Document. Ours does have those words, so if they started messing about like in Yogis case, I should have some comeback.
It does sound a bit ominous in the event of a claim though.
