Does any1\'s cabin get really hot when the engin is running, both idle and driving?
for some reason i get lots of heat coming in through the footwells and coming from the gearbox area and prop shaft tunnel.
my gear stick gets really hot also.
any ideas why anyone?
and also when the air con is turned on, even at low the engine idle drops and is close to stalling.
any ideas or comments welcome
cheers
mine does :D
Yep with the heat thing especially around the gear lever. As for the air con I wouldn\'t know as mine doesn\'t have it. You should be able to adjust the idle on the BAC valve just a touch so that the engine revs slightly higher.
hmm maybe your idle is slighty low, these easily raised.
the haynes manual has a list of other things that it could be too i think. ill look 2mo
thanx for the replies.
4t i mite hav a home in exhaust hence it get so hot but i guess its \'normal\'
i 4t bout increasing idle but cant find nething long enough to poke into the bac.
You should try racing in one! You think the cabin temps get high? When there is no sound deadening, and the heat from the exhaust, engine, gearbox radiate through from the transmission tunnel.....then you feel heat! I\'m going to stick a Temp gauge inside when we go out for the next race
On the plus side........
You wont be complaining in winter!!!!
Get one of those retro cabin fans :Giggle
lol.. maybe i shoudl copy mr clarkson in his ep of top gear when they brought a car in the states for 1k.
stick a shower in there!!
they all get hot, my transmission housing and around the gear stick does get especially hot. I am afraid that with a turbocharged rotary comes with it the heat, part of the joys of owning one.
