Title: A/C Radiator Removal
Post by: SmbFD3S on July 18, 2008, 11:07:12 PM
Well my Aircon hasn\'t worked for about 7 years i\'m told (i\'ve had the car 2 years) so decided to remove the front radiator. The threads are stripped anyway so i\'d have to replace the pipes and the radiator to get the a/c working.

So just wondering, cos i\'m not removing the compressor just yet, can i just unplug it to disable the compressor clutch enabling or will this bring a fault up? I still want to use the a/c button for the rad fans you see ?

Also with the water radiator being exposed now do i need to protect it with mesh or somthing to be on the safe side?

Removing the plug for the compressor doesn\'t bring a fault up (not on mine anyway with the Apexi PFC).  Switch still works for fans too.

I removed all mine over 4 years ago and have not had any probs with the water rad being damaged, and the car is used every day.
