Title: Cigeratte lighter fitting
Post by: eyedee on March 18, 2004, 06:00:44 PM
Hiya,
does anyone know why my newly purchased ciggy lighter from Rip-off, SORRY - Ripspeed, doesnt fit in my Jap Type R lighter housing?  Are Jap lighters smaller or something?  Ive just got the car without a lighter so I\'ve never seen an original to compare against.
thanks  :)

It\'s uncanny I\'ve just bought  a series 3 and that hasn\'t got a Cigarette  lighter as well . I was told it was put  in the ashtray which is even more curious as  despite searching everywhere  I cant find an ashtray either !!

Confused ?  You will be!!!

Martin :rollin

That is odd!  It should be in the dividing pillar at the rear of the hand brake lever.  Odd thing this but when I took my interior out for refurb I found a tray with a light in it underneath the stock ash tray!  Weird no?

Turns out, Jap lighters are indeed smaller than UK.  But surely that means phone chargers etc. for UK phones cannot fit too!
