Title: Vaccum Hose querie
Post by: Locki on July 14, 2008, 09:34:38 PM
I was just inspecting all my vaccum hoses and found the hose from the solenoid marked "G" in the diagam (double throttle) passes through a vaccum chamber, and then up to the double throttle control actuator. However, the hose on my car doesn\'t pass through a vaccum chamber at all:3Confused
it comes off the solenoid and straight up to the metal pipe on the rats nest, and then on to the actuator. Is this right or am i missing something? Plus there\'s about 3 other metal pipes which are not connected to anything either end, again, is this normal?

Link to the vaccum diagram: http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn464/Locki666/rx7vacuum_hose_diagram.jpg (http://i323.photobucket.com/albums/nn464/Locki666/rx7vacuum_hose_diagram.jpg)

Thanks in advance to any replys.

*BUMP*
Also, one more question, does anybody know where to buy the check valves and solenoids.etc from? looked everywhere but can\'t find anything. Do I have to go directly to Mazda for these items? Cheers. (thinking of replacing the vaccum hoses now and thought it would be a good idea to replace most other bits too.)

do u get boost when u re-apply throttle?

pinched this off a troubleshooting site:

Note, that the vacuum supply is from the Vacuum Chamber (http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-7/TurboTroubleshooting.htm#VacuumChamber), thus leakage of the one-way check valve for the Vacuum Chamber (http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-7/TurboTroubleshooting.htm#VacuumChamber) will result in Primary boost applied on both sides of the actuator resulting in this valve opening when it should not, dumping Primary boost through the Charge Relief , Secondary Turbo and out the Charge Relief Valve. Another symptom of a leaky Vacuum Chamber (http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-7/TurboTroubleshooting.htm#VacuumChamber) one-way check valve is a loss of boost that is restored if the throttle is let off, (re-charging the Vacuum Chamber (http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-7/TurboTroubleshooting.htm#VacuumChamber) from engine vacuum) then quickly re-applying throttle results in boost.

maybe ur getting inconsistent boost and these symptons because ur missing the vac chamber?

That sounds very similar to the problem I have. Boost is all over the place, and it does help if i ease off the throttle and then re apply it. Just had a look and i can see the vaccum chamber! it just doesn\'t appear to be connected. I think i\'m going to start stripping it all down to get a closer look and see why it hasn\'t been connected. I\'m guessing there shouldn\'t be any reason for it being disconnected?

Thanks for the link john. :Thumbs-up
