Title: Mazdaspeed items
Post by: FDAsh on July 12, 2008, 04:27:36 PM
What is the deal with these body parts, coilovers and suchlike? Were they optional extras offered by Mazda in the same way that Vauxhall has Irmscher?

I\'m contemplating a set of MS coilovers and wondered what to tell the insurance company as I\'ve found in the past that optional extras don\'t bump up the premium as much.

Any advice appreciated. :)

Majority of Mazdaspeed items for the FD have been discontinued now.

They produced lots of things from carbon fibre lips, to full bodykit, to interior panels etc.

Shame really as some of the stuff they did was quite nice.

Yeah, I like OEM stuff. I\'m just interested to know if I fit MS coilovers, do they come under the "manufacturer suspension upgrade" when I tell the insurance?

Nope, mazdaspeed weren\'t optional extras, although I did use that trick with my mazdaspeed wheels on my first years insurance.
