Hey peeps im looking at a boost problem for a friend on there 3rd gen...
Car boosts fine on the first turbo 2 0.74bar then drops to about .3ish then only goes to 0.4 on the 2nd turbo..
All hoses wer change, i cant see anything wrong, pressure chamber looks fine, only thing iv noticed is a earth cable not attached and the plastic crossover pipe the brackets come away from it but dosnt look like its leaking pressure.. these reading are constant, a few time its went to 0.5 but thats it..
Also its got a baileys dump valve that always hissing so i change that over n still no go lol
Any idears?
Im sure she had the solonoids changed over too...

Coule be the Charge control valve. Try disconnecting the pipe that leads towards to air filter from the CRV, if you hear the boost vent then your solenoid is knackered, this was my problem. There is a test, i\'ll post the link up later, or if you like i\'m going to be posting a simple solenoid test in the next few days. If so you\'ll need a mityvac, the pressure chambe, a boost gauge and a 12v supply.
the 2nd crv was removed and replaced with the bov, but theres pressure coming from that pipe.. so the charge control valve is shot?
also check that the restrictor pill is in the vac pipe to the wg.

should there b a check valve on the wastegate pipe? diagram dosnt show one bud? all those hoses wer replaced so could be that? how would you check, should it only go 1 way?
no there should be 2 restricter pills in the pipes to the pre control and waste gate actuators. and no it should go both ways.
so the wastegate control actuator and the turbo precontrol actuator hose should have pills... sounds like the prob then, how can you fix the prob to see if it is that? they look like normal vac hoses...
ok been reading on on the pill theory lol, will this cause pressure to be released out of the 2nd crv pipe? because its deffinetly hissing out of the bov.. kinda weird at the vac hose coming from the plenum opens the bov on tickover..
i had exactly this for the last two weeks; good boost on primary, 0.3-0.5 on secondary & big loss of power with slow whoosh from dump valve- couldnt see anything obviously wrong on the surface so thought it was the charge control solenoid, ordered a new one but today thought i\'d check the one-way valves - and one had burst apart! darn, should have checked them first! unscrew the pressure tank between the plenum & alternator and check underneath if you havent already!
i replaced it with a viton one i had lying around and now all ok!
already looked at it bud and its fine ;s lol
