Title: Aftermarket bonnets
Post by: D-Rex on June 29, 2008, 09:44:54 AM
I have just got an AD-9 bonnet and im attempting to fit it, prior to paint. The question is do I need the washer jets on there as a legal requirement? I just wondered if anyone else has them on theres and how the hell I would do this.

Really starting to get the feeling im in way over my head here guys, trying to fit a Feed bumper too. I need to stop messing around with my car.

believe you do as the MOT testers generally check that as part of the process

Yes you do need them as a legal requirment, you can also be done for not having any water in the screen wash bottle if you are stopped for a roadside check!
there are several options you can go with though, one is to use the peogot(cant spell i know)405 washer jets that attach to the wipers or get the citro"n ones that attach under the top lip of the bonnet below the screen.

Yup you do need them.  The holes are already cut out on the bonnets (or should be!) so you will be able to swap your existing ones over no problem :)

to get round that issue of the washer jets, instead of mounting them on the bonnet, mount them like on TVRs and single wiper conversions, they have sprayers on the actual blade, so all you would need to do is route the spray hose up the blades and put some sprayers on :)

Yes you do, and you\'ll also need bonnet pins :(
If you\'ve ever driven a car without the washer squirter\'s working you\'ll realise how much you miss them if they\'re not there :(
