Title: thought i blown the engine
Post by: sickboy2345 on June 28, 2008, 07:39:53 PM
you cant even imagine the feeling when you think ur car is dead...:)

anyway, was working on my car all day(removed aircon, installed my gauges - BIG THX TO EDDIEand few little bits and pieces) took my car for a spin and after few minutes of good ragging i spotted lots of white steam coming from under the bonnet, when i opened it it fo so thick that i couldn see the engine - though i blown it, phoned my mate and he knew exactly what happened, the rubber hose coming from the engine, just behind thje firewall - the one you use to bleed the air from cooling system

thats what left:

the thing is im going to replace it tommorow, put new coolant, bleed the system and try to drive it but i dont know where the other end should plugged in, i cant see nothing behind trhe UIM :(

does anyone have picture?

please..

You\'ll need to take the UIM off. Then you\'ll see it. It\'s at the back by the firewall behind the rat\'s nest.

Guess you\'ve already finished this, just replaced the same, need a very long nose pair of pliers to aid you, but should be fine!

Bottom coolant connection is vertical and a pain to get to but we\'ve managed it!

Does anybody know why these split apart from \'age\'?

i\'d say pressure+not bleeding the system properly?
