Hi all!
I\'m planning on having alcantara put in the rx....now the car is dark metallic grey, any ideas on interior colours? Dark red?
Yea, dark red / burgandy would look awesome.....very classy.
Funnily enough, I\'m planning pretty much the reverse :D
Burgundy paintwork, with dark grey interior...
Burgandy would look lovely, I was reading an old autocar the other day that had a V8 Vantage with a burgundy alcantara interior - looked absolutely amazing!
I wouldn\'t recommend bright red as it marks to easily, but a darker fabric would give a really nice \'luxury\' feel I think. Especially if you employed a \'piano black\' effect on the interior plastics.
Lime green.
How much is this costing you out of interest ? Been thinking about this myself, I hate the plastic look.
Bulla
Another vote for dark red and yes please some idea of cost would be good as I\'d also like to alcantara my interior.
Well my friend does trimming- very good!
He did my centre console, and the bit around the aircon- that took him nearly a whole day as it was fiddly- excellent job though!
Cost- depends how far you want to go, if you are SERIOUS I will ask him to quote for it, dont want to mess him about too much
Picture shows my car...didnt get anymore done as I sold it!
Jeebers! That looks pink to me, dude! Don\'t do this one that colour, FGS! Dark red, not Fairy Pink

Haha yes I know it does look a bit pink, it was red though :2Confused didnt look quite so bad in the flesh, but would definately have darker red next time. I was trying to get a close colour to the outside colour of the car
Which bits were yyu going to get trimmed? to me, bits like that seem a bit of an odd choice? I was thinking more the large expanses of plastics such as dash, Instrument cowling, and doorcards?

There is a real pink thing going on here! You are very quick to comment about this colour........maybe a little too quick!
Are you stuck in a cupboard at the moment and wanting to come out?

Hee hee! Are you hopeful, then, Jon? :D. Sorry mate, I\'m spoken for! Hopefully my one-year old son is some proof of my sexual orientation, but if anything, judging by the sorts of thoughts that go through my head, I\'m more likely to turn out to be a lesbian than gay! :Giggle
On a more relevant note, I was thinking of covering the same panels as Chaz with grey alcantara in my FD, but also doing the clock surround. I never really like them painted, they look cheap then IMO, so that seemed the best way to go. The early easy-scratch plastics definitely need sorting out more urgently than the textured faux-leatherette dash and doorcards and that, so doing those bits makes perfect sense to me

Yes...The colour was going to follow on around the clock surrounds, and the plastic panels on the door cards. I bought a dash too...was going to do that and the door cards in black alacantara...too lessen the plasticy feel!
Oh yes- my original inspiration http://foto.drom.ru/3389/36047/
but decided to reverse the colour scheme...as I thought the red dash would reflect too much
I wouldnt go with too light colors I covered everything in a black/grey color and set some silver highlights. With your paintwork I would do it black with a grey that matches the outside.

That is a plush looking car, although I agree that the colour scheme would probably look better reversed... It\'s not like the red interior matches the exterior paintwork either... :)
Still - defo a step up from the usual FD interior!
hey free where are you getting your alcantara from i need enough white for a head lineing
The FD dash is uninspiring..... polishing turd comes to mind.... do something crazy/different & get a new mould built...
