Title: gauge help for a new guy
Post by: olympus on June 26, 2008, 03:07:58 PM
Hi all, hope soneone can help me. I am new to the RX7 but now I know what I\'ve been missing!!!! However I have one nagging issue with my car and thats some of the gauges/instruments. For some reason my tacho has a mind of its own..sometime working and other times hard over at the red line...likewise the oil gauge reads a little eratically...sometimes solid and other times bouncing. Does anyone know the cause and cure? Thanks in advance...Neil

i know all the causes for these its an RX7, plain and simple quite often i pull onto my drive doing 170. There are a few fixes involves soldering in some new capacitors. They leek after a number of years and so need replacing

Not sure about the tacho but the oil guage is known for being crap.

Mine is all over the place, often sat at 0!

even if they are working, they don\'t accurately tell the temp / pressure anyway...

get some aftermarket gauges ASAP!

Hehe my rev counter has been going nuts for a while. If I had the money I\'d get something nice to replace the lot!
