Hey guys. Got a wee problem with my idle it will intermittently hold at around 1.1k and sit there..
While it\'s doing i can turn on the fan to setting 3/4 and it will drop down to the speed i have got it set to in a few moments (around 800 - 850.) I\'m guessing this is going to be a ground issue but do you have any ideas on where to start before I have to go over the whole car with a fine tooth comb?

this happens (very occasionally) on rx7s and other cars i have had etc but never really caused a proble mm or found the problem. i did find that greasing/lubricating the throttle linkage/springs and clearing it from trapped pipes etc can help or solve the issue.
Wow fast reply m4drx. I\'m just a little concerned as it sits there and its nearly every time. I expect it to drop down. I\'ll give the lube a try - I recently de gunked it and the ICS with carb cleaner. :mmmm
well i had this problem a fair bit once and tapping the accelerator got rid i found. then one day i floored it for a moment but the revs kept going...! so i put it in neutral straight away to which it started to bounce off the rev limiter. i stopped the car and i was a tad miffed but i thought about what id done to it recentl and i remembered i put one a metal flexable clip on the pipe going from the UIM to the map sensor to hold it on (the ones you pinch with pliers to release) this was getting jammed against the throttle linkage and causing it to stick open.
as simple as that really.
