Does anyone know how much tax you pay when shipping something form america, is it the same as japan?

sadly it is. Ask them to devalue the invoice... else you\'ll be paying 25% tax + 17.5% vat

what ya buying?

if my calculations are correct that makes the kit £527 including the vat and tax

yeah..

...dam bit too big to bring back for ya ;)

good price.. I would! Be aware though a lot of them do copies, so check it out fully before you buy.. if that doesn\'t bother then then sod it anyway

37.5% of the full asking price in £\'s (£371) would equate to about
£508 + shipping I guess... still a bargain

though then you have the fun or spraying, bonding etc too but thats cash for another day hehe

i ordered lots of bits from the states.   According to HMC&Excise, you pay 4% of the total price of the item including the postage price and then vat on top of that total.   If you can get the seller to put a lower value on the parcel you will pay less but the problem with that is you cant get postage insurance for the value of the item.
eg:        item price                   100
             postage                       50
             total                           150
             +4%tax                         6
             total                           156
             + vat     17.5%           27.30
             TOTAL                         183.30.
go to //www.usps.com to get quotes on postage,  you will need weights though.

won\'t have the nova for long, and don\'t want to shell out on a hire car or buy a piece of crap to get round it

at the end of the day its my money and i want it done quick :)

with ya on that one...well keep me informed of how ya get on.

I think you should sit and watch then set up yer own rebuilding business and give those who have lost bits of thier cars in the past extra big discounts

(I\'m full of good ideas)

Yeah I was all set to buy a piece of crap, but when it came down to it I couldnt so I got an S14 200SX.  Theres logic in my thinking somewhere.

I had to get the bus 3 times and couldnt stand it anymore so had to get a car to get around in.
