I want to use a G meter to get some initial figures for BHP, mainly to see if things i change make it quicker or slower, To get the figures i need the weight of the car...... any ideas anyone.
Go here for details of weights/models.

My type R should weigh 1250kg. As MOT station it weight 1420kg with large tester in driving seat and 3/4 tank of super unleaded.
What\'s a \'G\' meter ?
It is a little gadget that looks like a speed detector, you plug it in to your ciggy lighter and stick it to the windscreen. it will tell you 0-60 time, 1/4 mile time, breaking times and bhp. to work out bhp it needs the weight of the car.
i dont know how it works but it seems to.
Thats a bit odd? So my 92 Type R weighs 1260kg, but my mazda jack only lifts up to 800kg. And my 96 Calibra weighs 1250kg - less than the RX7? Never - surely?!?
Hmm, I\'ve gotta get my REX weighed. Im starting to wonder if the previous owners stripped and rebuilt my RX7 with lightweight parts for racing purposes - or was just a modding fanatic, or something? It has a racing only fibreglass custom vented bonnet, lightweight split rims, full racing decals with racing number space on both doors. It could just be for show of course! :)
Out of interest, is everyone elses spare wheel a 4" width alloy, light weight enough to lift with a couple of fingers?
cheers :D
eyedee,
Hopefully you wont be attempting to lift the entire car with your Mazda jack, as it\'s only designed to raise a corner at a time. Thus, 800kg restriction is more than plenty!
Ha ha! lol! Good point :rollin
