Need to get a new set of coilovers...
Was about to buy a set of Tein Super Street, but was talking to a guy at Diftworks who was recommending their \'Driftworks Control System Coilovers\'
http://www.driftworks.com/cata.....overs.html
Reckons they\'re better than the Tein SS...
I\'m a bit clueless about the details, so what do you reckon?
Anyone heard any opinions? I\'m not likely to go drifting very much in the near future, so just looking for some good raod coilovers with occasional track use.

Better than Tein SS is what sense?? Oh and the link don\'t work matey :)
I can\'t find any that fit the RX7 to be honest and depends whether they\'ve been tested on the 7 as the Skyline and the like are a lot heavier cars...
I have just had a set of teins put on my FD and they feel great would recommend them, one advantage with teins is they have a uk service center so if you had any problems alittle down the line you have help at hand.

Oops, link here Driftworks Control System Coilovers (http://www.driftworks.com/catalog/products/driftworks-control-system-coilovers.html)
The guy from Driftworks said they are comparable to the Tein Flex coilovers in that they\'re both monotube design.
Trouble is I don\'t know enough about either (T-SS, T-Flex or these) to make a decision.

yeah, that is a good point.
Think I\'m gonna go with T-SS.
Personally i just think more has been proved, especially on the 7 with Teins and there is some background on them whereas the Driftworks setup is not particularly known.
I also think the DW setup would be harsher on the road due to it\'s design, so it depends how you want the ride to be.
The Driftworks setup has a 30-Day no quibble money back guarantee if you don\'t like them. I\'d say get them and see how they are, if you don\'t like them you can always get your cash back. They don\'t list the FD though...
didn\'t know about the guarantee, and yeah, they\'ve only just started doing them for the FD... (I called them up)
Quite a few people have been really impressed with them, so might be one to look out for in future...
Think the ride would\'ve been harder than the T-SS, and I don\'t need them that hard or \'track like\'.
To be honest, my current Teins (unknown model L.. something it says on them) are so hard I virtually jump out the seat everytime I go over a bump...
Fitted Tein Super Streets to mine some 4 months ago and am very pleased with them. Got them on the softest setting ( 16 ) and they are not overly hard and the car handles fine. The roads round bucks are probably like most, rough in places, but the Tein\'s remove the worst of the buffeting !!!!!.

I see that you want these to go mainly on the road be soft and also around the track,
In this case the Super Street and not even the dearer Flex will be your way to go because with the adjustable damper screw wound off the car will soften up like a Rolls Royce and just the dampers will still adjust hard to go around the Track properly, ask Paul (RX7veilside) who brought an SS kit so he could have a nice soft ride when he wanted it,
Also many people have brought the SS kit with never a complaint,
It also may be an idea to have a look at post no 11 on the link below to give you more info on Tein reliability,
http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49635
Lastly, the Teins you have on your car are probably old HA\'s that are very hard, not to be confused with modern day Tein kits as they stopped making the HA kit a long time ago,
Hope this helps,
slight hijack, but does anyone know the spring rates of the SS sold in the uk? have been reading a thread on rx7club.com concerning chassis setup and it promotes a slightly softer spring rates than standard, but wondered if the uk ones had different spring rates?
Ring them up and ask them who makes them, there is noway driftworks make them themselves. They\'re probably rebranded d2\'s.

They are definitely rebranded HSD\'s... they\'re very proud of that fact, cos apparently that\'s a good brand well known in Aussie land.
I\'m sure they\'re great coilovers too, but just not suited to what I wanted in the end...
