Hey All,

Just showing my face. :WaveBye

Purchased a RX-7 FC Turbo II not so long ago.

Previously owned a 2.0L Corsa (I know... but don\'t under estimate it!)
Dyno\'d, 185bhp @ wheels.
Among other cars.

I\'m new to the Jap tuning scene. Moving towards the Jap scene as I was getting the wrong type of image, police and other drivers alike.

I\'m mechanically minded but new to turbo\'s.
I mean, I know how they work but not but not their in\'s and out.

My FC has a few modifications before I brought it.
It had a bucket seat (bright blue, which i restored back to orignal)
and the Rear seats removed so a rear strut bar can be added.

It\'s done 120,000 miles and is in near stock condition.

Here are a few photo\'s of my FC.

My plans for it is to keep it original looking as possible.
Uprate the suspension and LSD etc to make it more of a drivers car.
I\'m not really power hungry but anything non standard is nice. Probably aim for something like 300bhp, anything extra is a bonus.

Track day car - maybe.
Drifting - I can\'t drift, yet. But was told i was already doing it.
Show car - waste. I rather drive it.
Driver\'s car - Oh yeah!

I enjoy my \'spirited drives\', I think I read it some where in this forum that \'RX-7\'s aren\'t for cruising. Built for racing\'. I can agree with that comment.

Hope to see you guys in the near future and make a few friends with folks with the same interest as me.

Ray.

Welcome :D nice coupe :) just remember to warm up the rotary before driving it, plenty of oil checks, 2 minute cool down before you switch the engine off to cool the turbo :) when was it rebuilt?

adereed - So your the red FC owner in Kendal that I\'ve been hearing of. I\'m in and out of Kendal about once a week. I have a few friends in Kendal, but they are 3rd gen civic owners.

m1tch - Believe it or not it hasn\'t had a rebuild yet! Fingers crossed it\'ll won\'t happen soon. I know about the perks of the rotary, but which oil to use? Huge debate over oil type. I use part syn. 5w30.

Cheers for the warm welcome!

I would get a compression check done ASAP then, cause FC engines will last between 100-125k miles, if the rear rotor goes it will cost many £££s more on the rebuild as you will need a new rotor and possibly new housing. I would have thought that it would have a rebuild done though, and I also noticed that you are missing the turbo II front splitter like my FC coupe lol

Yep thats me. Nice to know the lads round here have noticed me! I don\'t seem to draw that much attention though somehow. Maybe cause I don\'t hang around the New Road area im normally to busy driving to stop and chat! If your around though I\'ll pop out and say hello. Drop me an Email to TiddlesRX7 at bigstring dot com and i\'ll give you my mobile number.
Oh and I use 10-40w mineral oil.
