Post by: welshrx-7 on June 14, 2008, 12:07:39 PM
hey guys just wondering i have a decat pipe and am waiting to get a new ecu? the thing that confuses me is when i have them parts put on and the car remapped how do i fair with the mot. i know i will have to put the cat back on but will the car have to remapped again then for the mot. will running the car with a cat on it but mapped for the decat run the risk of popping the engine.

If your car is >July 1995 then it does not require a cat and therefore take a non cat test.

With regard to the decat pipe what sort of boost control have you got in place?  If you decat and have no boost control you could end up with boost creep/spikes and detination of your engine.
