Welcome to the club, Our UK dyno figures do read a lot lower then the US,NZ,AUS
What make dyno do you guys use down under?
Title: Hello Im new here (pics of my 7)
Post by: Dr-Rotor on June 12, 2008, 10:57:01 PM
Yea Dynos are ok. Good tuning tool mainly. Sorry forgot to mention the dyno type. Its a Dyno Dynamics at my local rotary mech. RX7HEAVEN. Its written on the side of my car. He built my motor & sponsors me to do superlap events. He has his own 8sec 20b drag car & crazy 500whp on 12psi 20B road car. Great guy realy knows his stuff. He builds very very strong engines. 1 customer put a bad batch of gas in & detonated the car several times. Nothing broke all that happend was the rotor got dented on the apex causing it to pinch the seal an drop comperssion. Striped it, remachined the rotor, rebuilt & carried on with its 500whp bridge port pulse the next day.

LOL funny thing about this work shop is that every car has around 500hp. LOL. He has just finished building some rich kid a Peripheral Port single turbo monster. Sounds amazing.

O I forgot to add my clutch setup to the drive line mods. I use an Exedy twin plate D core carbon clutch with light weight fly wheel combo. Great for traffic & never slips. Pricey though.

Yea ok I will take some pics of everything. I dont perticularly have footage of GTR race as that day was our Superlap event & I was chasing the GTR in the practice laps without a camera. Hes a racing driver & finished 2nd with a 1.02. I finished 6th out of 40 cars with a 1.06 trying to get used to my whole new setup. It was my first time with all the strut bars & semislick. I used to do 1.12 on street tyres but droped 6sec in 1 day with the new tyres. Just to give you an idea of lap times on this track the porche GT3 cup cars lap any where from 59sec to 1.03 with full slick tyres.

The GTR could out brake me as I have yet to get some racing calipers & discs, But in the power zones he was only 2 car lengths ahead of me & could not get away.

I have a vid of my car doing a dyno run on my face book profile, its a 470whp run with Steve Rossan tuning it. For those who dont know, Steve is the creator of FC-Datalogit & has run 11.5 with stock twins & now runs 9s with a twin set of GT3582R\'s on low boost. He is experimenting with a methanol setup at the moment.

Yes the Rotary seen here is HUGE. We have a special rotary only drag racing day every year. All high performance Jap cars are huge here. Top 3 would Be RX7, GTR & Supra. My brother is currantly fitting a Turbonetics T61 to his Supra. I will post a vid of us racing once his car is finished. I have some small clips at home of my car. I will try to post them up tonight. I will also take some pics of the PP car currantly in the shop & everything els in there too.

Anyway heres a pic of 1 of the show cars from RX7HEAVEN workshop. I will be taking some pics today of the others. The PP is all in bits due to some dodgy injectors. They are waiting on some new ones & then I will be able to take some pics of it all in the engine bay again.

Yea there are alot of high powerd FD\'s here. I know of 3 20B FD\'s in my area & 10 high powered single turbo 13B FD\'s. Great country to have a Rotary in. There are 5 rotary tuner shops in Auckland alone that I know of.

Hey buddy its 9pm here now on Saturday night.

Yes I have to put a full rollcage in, race seats & racing brakes all round. Its getting a little hard to stop going into a hairpin at 250kph+ in under 100m. LOL good fun.

That green fd has had some work on it:cool

I agree with Karl...the AUS and NZ rotary scene seems huuuuuuuuuuuge compared to the UK scene, and we have like 6 many times the people.

On a side note, on of the FD\'s i love to death from NZ is Mad Mikes widebody camo drift machine.....what a car!:3gears-lh

Well have a look at these. If you want to see all sorts then the 4&Rotor is the one. If you want to see only rotarys, everything from 12A to 26G(4rotor) then the Summerdrags is the one.

i was out there in november last year for 3 weeks, doing "leadership training" with the RAF and you couldn\'t drive past a single car dealership with out them having a line of rx7\'s for sale!

they don\'t seem to have anything on the scale of chavvy saxo\'s etc, everything seems to be jap and very tastefully done, make\'s our car scene in the uk look quite poor....

would love to move over there, only problem is the wages aren\'t up to much....
