Title: Flooded car but no tools with me?
Post by: muzzyd on March 15, 2004, 11:15:13 AM
Any ideas how to get the rx started?  Have left it lying for the past while, maybe 12 days or so, last time I used it was only to move it to a parking space 50 yards away, it is stinking of fuel when I tried it this morning an I checked the thread by gb but dont have tools to take out the plugs :(

The only time I flooded mine (in traffic, on an upwards hill!!!) I got it going by turning it over with the throttle help in WOT (pressed all the way to the floor).

This tells the ecu not to fuel the car and can clear out the flooding problem.  Lifted off the peddle and it fired up no problems.  The car should be fine standing a few weeks without running but the short trip is not good for it - always leave running until at least the cold-start procedure has finished (i.e. the revs have dropped to normal idle).
