Hey folks
Looking for a bit of help. MOT time yesterday and one of the fail points was the centre section brake light wasn\'t working. So stripped it down today to see what was up and found that the connector coming from the unit wasn\'t connected...easy job..plug it back in, i thought. Only, the male side of the connector has vanished? No trace?
Pulled out most of the boot trim and had a good hunt around but I cannot find it. This must have been like this sinces I bought the car 3 years ago and i have never noticed.
Does anyone know where this missing connector should be coming from? I cant see where the wires would be connected to if they did exist.
Some pics..

Hi Strange that that is a mot fail as I thought uk cars did not use this center section brake light.
It should pass as long as you have both back brake lights working.
Not much help solving you problem but my boot trim is out so will go and have a look for you now.
Cheers
Cheers mate... its been MOTd twice and never picked up before...but would be better to get it working anyway!
I will ask re. whether it requires it for MOT
I think if you have the lights, they need to be working... so you could just take the rest of the bulbs/wiring out
But, that doesn\'t answer your question...and I like the centre lights..
Yeah I have to keep them...too cool to bin them lol
Nope UK cars didn\'t come with them or the wiring and never failed an MOT, strange that....
I have infact put a jap centre section in for the added safety of the brake lights tho and it just looks better, and i connected them up to the existing brake light wiring as i didn\'t have any to start with.
How did you connect them to the existing wiring?
I got a centre section loom from RX motors to connect mine up, only to find that when connected and fitted with bulbs it did not show through the lens. Changed the lens yesturday (again supplied by RX motors) now they work fine. Looking at your pic, the centre section appears to have the loom in place but what i can\'t see is the connector which the loom connects too. On mine it was above the K in your last pic.

Connected the bulbs negative to a ground on the car and the positive i spliced into the passenger side brake light wiring. You could use a scotchlock or something like that but i just soldered them altogether and fitted heat shrink tubing to make it look neater :)
Many thanks... at least I have something to do tomorrow!
Sorry to Hijack your thread Craig mate, one of my MOT failures was a problem with "lights interfering with each other" - so assuming that they\'re not touchy feely with each other ;) - anyone had an issue like this before? Apparently its a grounding issue according to MOT man?

Yeah, you will have a bad earth connection somewhere mate, just a case of cleaning up the contact areas first of all to see if this fixes it, otherwise it\'s a long process trying to find a bad ground....
