Title: M1tch\'s intake mods
Post by: m1tch on June 10, 2008, 07:08:34 PM
Hey guys, I have been modifying my intake, but still making it look stock, there are plans for 5 stages of modifications to it.

Stage 1: replacement air filter

Stage 2: Custom heatshild and modded OEM CAI

Modded OEM CAI (this will duct the cold air onto the filter as there is no box to contain the flow of air anymore)

This is how the intake looks after stages 1 and 2 of intake mods, there are 5 stages planned, but those are secret :D

good work mate.

you may want to wrap metal heat shields in something as they hold alot of heat and dont reflect for example; on my fd i went from stock intake pipes and ic pipes to polished hard pipes. the stock ones were warm after a hard drive the polished are scalding hot!

Good work!

I wonder if that radiator reflector stuff would work on the outside of your metalwork - I was going to use that for my cold air box - as you want the inside to stay cool.

will stage 5 be a cold air feed from through to bumper and under the stock air box? more cold air the better :D

Thats a close guess, but not quite there :D lol There are 3 more modifications to be done until I am satified with the intake, well 4 thinks if you include taking the air pump out to put a straight pipe inbetween the filter and turbo, but thats later :)

thats going to be a nice little mod for you when its done.  I\'ve decided that I am going to do away with the stock feed and fabricate a feed to come from the bumper with maybe its own cold air feed. This will get rid of all the clutter, having an electric fan so the whole front will be completely void of plastic.  I have aluminium tape thats sticky as hell and is brillient to fill in gaps and holes.  if it can stay on an aircraft it\'ll stay on the car !!  You can buy it on ebay but quality is not as good but does the job.
