Title: Clutch not disengaging properly
Post by: lil ben on June 10, 2008, 10:08:20 AM
Hello all,

My EGi is starting to play up. The biting point keeps changing but if I pump the pedal it goes back to the normal point. It will change during journeys and I have crunched it into reserve to find it started creeping backwards.....with the clutch down
I\'m guessing that there\'s a leak somewhere or it\'s low on fluid ?
I\'ll have a look later but is there anything else I should be checking ?

After a hard days drifting it did refuse to go into gear sometimes unless I pumped the clutch a couple of times. Release bearing ?
Don\'t have a clue really :D lol
I think it\'s sulking as it\'s knows it\'s going to be replaced soon :burnout

Thanks

Sounds kinda like the problems i had with a leaky Master Cylinder...

I\'d guess a leaking cylinder or hose.  Mine behaved in a similar way when it failed - it was the small flexible hose on the bulkhead - you could see it wetted on one end where it was leaking - pedal would stick to the floor and have to be brought up manually sometimes :(

You can get rebuild kits for the cylinders as well - Grinder has a write up on it somewhere on MRC.

Typical, wasn\'t doing it when I checked it out yesterday.
No leaks can be seen so looks like it is a cylinder.
One question though, there\'s kinda V pipe on the slave cylinder. One side goes to the master cylinder and the other side has nothing connected. I\'m sure it should be blanked off ? As it\'s not at the moment

That\'s the bleed nipple - it might once have had a rubber cap on it - but mine is also uncapped.
