found these on an american site ( cant remember the guys name but boy did he know his stuff) and wondered if this applies to the import one s we have if so does anybody have the mazda UK number to check if they have been done? any help much appreciated people
There have been three recall notices put out on the 3rd Generation RX-7s,
two pertaining to engine fires, and one concerning brake booster failure.
You will want to make sure that the car in question has had these recalls
done. If they have not been performed, you will want to take the car to a
Mazda dealership where they will be performed free of charge. If you don\'t
know whether the recalls have been applied to a car, you can call the Mazda
Customer Service line at (800) 222-5500 with the vehicle\'s VIN, and they
can tell you.
Coolant recall
The coolant recall involved the replacement of some cooling system parts
with stronger/more heat resistant materials and lowering the pressure of
the cooling system from 1.3 bar to .9 bar. The parts replaced were the
water pump seal, the water level sensor, the upper radiator hose, the
filler cap, the filler cap body, the thermostat gasket, the water hose
leading to the throttle body, and the water hose leading to the coolant
separator tank.
Fuel line recall
The fuel line recall involved replacing the fuel lines under the intake
manifold with lines made from a more heat resistant material, and adding
a fan control unit that runs the cooling fans if the coolant gets too
hot, even if the car is turned off.
Brake recall
The brake recall involves the replacement of a vacuum check valve and
hose leading to the brake booster. The original unit may stick when
oily and cold, preventing power assist under braking.

That\'s what Number 2 was for... he "thought it was just steam til he heard the crackling" :rollin
As for your question, I don\'t know the answer, but that vid should get people checking their fuel lines ;)
I cant imagine that Mazda will now make these mods for you the car is just too old, and they are all cheap fixes if you want to make sure yourself, most of these parts may have been changed by now I would have thought, alls cars Ive seen are on .9 rad caps
I know mine have been done being a UK car i have the full history :)
Checked this before i bought the car anyway, no idea how you\'d go about tracing a JDM history to be honest....
Could you please confirm that the rad cap is .9 as i have 1.1 on mine, and .9 on ast.
thanks

some of the after market ast have been using 1.1 caps but Mazda only supply .9 for the FD
Some get away with using the 1.1 cap but has at times caused problems
Rad cap has no spring in it so has no pressure rating its onlt the ast that should have this, you may need to change this as I guess you only want pressure throughout the system
would\'nt have thought that the age of the car would really matter, my evo was a E4 on a P 96, and i rang Mitsi UK and they confirmed rear suspension recall hadnt been done and replaced free ( as all factory recalls should be) agree with age being a problem and most ? owners would have had it done, but how do we check? would have thought that Mazda UK , should have some sort of database to confirm, purely as they would surely be liable if any accident occured as a result? glad to hear anyones thought\'s on this:Giggle

Just to confirm, mine has a 0.9 pressure cap on AST and as gary says, there is no pressure rating / spring on the Rad cap...
