Hi all,
Well the sump is refitted along with a brightly painted sub frame.
When I was pondering just resealing the sump with Mazda sealant I noticed the area of the sump associated with the leak still had the black paint intact and the shape corresponded with the gap between the mounting holes for the engine mount. Maybe this is insignificant, but I\'m now paranoid and wanted to be sure this sealed.
So I had a local machine shop mill the engine mount and manufacture a spacer which now fills the gap between the mounting holes.
The intention is that the sump should have an even pressure in this area.
This is not necessary at the opposite side of the sump as Mazda included a swage in the corresponding area and the black paint is no longer there on my sump, suggesting an even distribution of the load.
Well I\'ve attached a couple of pictures to show the sump and the modified engine mounting, oh and the evry bright sub frame.
Thanks for all your advice and I\'ll let you know if its a success.
Chris
