Title: New Pink Panther pics
Post by: Roundabout-Now on March 14, 2004, 11:26:34 AM
Here\'s a few new pics of the Pink Panther since I got it back from Pip on Friday. Still needs a good clean :D

First pic shows the engine bay before (left) and after so you can see the changes to the rad piping and the huge new air filter.

The right hand side - no more japvillage stickers, ready for new ones to go on. Took me all evening friday with the hairdryer getting those damn things off.:p

And just a final shot of the car - I will take some of the boot when I remember to show the battery enclosure and sub box/amp.

s\'not pink, \'s magenta :D It looks a lot pinker in the photos than it is. Weird thing is that the colour sort of grows on you after a while. And the sound makes up for the colour, nothing camp about the noise it makes. After all, I bought it for the engine, not the colour :)

All the gauges are great - I just have to remember to look at the road every now and then.

Did u do the magazine-thing in the end mate?

Best guess of body;

Ab-flug nose
Mazda or may be RE-A side skirts
RE-A rear arch trims
RE-A rear wing

So did Pip give u (it!) a clean bill of health?

Magazine shoot is on Friday. That\'s why I was out in the rain this morning taking pics, so that I could post them up and get opinions on what the bits are on another thread.

From what I could find on the net this morning, I also got it as an Abflug (or copy) nose and front bumper, Re-A sideskirts, Re-A or mazdaspeed mirrors, Re-A Wing.

When you say rear arch trims, do you mean the 2 little bits added on to the sides of the bumper?

I wasn\'t sure if the vents behind the front wheels were standard either?

Pip seemed happy enough once the piping for the rad was done and the filter was on. He checked the fuel system and said that I\'ve got 2 large Walbro pumps in the tank. Not sure if the T04 is modified without taking it off. He didn\'t get the readings off the Motec yet either.

I\'m going to type up a full spec (so far) later on when I get chance and when it stops raining.

I think the breakdown so far (off the top of my head) is...

Exterior: Candy Apple Pink Magenta, Abflug front bumper, Abflug Bonnet, RE-A Mirrors, Re-A Rear wing, 17" Advan Racing Alloys, HKS exhaust (to be checked), neons, (need brand) headlight with vent/intake, coil-over shocks.

Interior: Standard black seats, half roll cage, battery in boot, Defi control unit, A-pillar pod with 60mm defi water and oil temp gauges, (insert brand) rev counter with change light, oil pressure gauge, colour-coded dash, full-closure cat 1 alarm/immobiliser with proximity sensors, Road Angel.

Mods/engine: 20B triple rotor engine, Motec M800 ECU, custom Alloy radiator, (Blitz or HKS) intercooler, 1600cc secondary injectors, 3mm drag tips, itg air filter, T-04 turbo, custom oil catch can, twin Walbro fuel pumps.

Sound System: to be confirmed.

That\'s it so far. :wave

Re-A or mazdaspeed mirrors
I think they are Ganador or FEED

The little bits attached to the bottom of the rear arches/bottom corners of rear bumper.

I wasn\'t sure if the vents behind the front wheels were standard either?
All FD\'s have \'em mate.

Not sure if the T04 is modified without taking it off. He didn\'t get the readings off the Motec yet either.
If the car makes 800hp+ then its modified!! Best get the car checked on a wideband lambda sensor ASAP if Pip didnt do this, just to make sure u r running nice and safe mate...

(need brand) headlight with vent/intake
FEED.

(Blitz or HKS) intercooler, 1600cc secondary injectors, 3mm drag tips, itg air filter, T-04 turbo, custom oil catch can, twin Walbro fuel pumps.
Intercooler is Trust/Greddy. Not sure what these \'drag\' tips are; do you have a bill fro the engine builder? The oil catch tank is a standard Cusco job for the FD.
Hope this helps mate.

Definatly not RE-A Mirrors, to big!!! LOL!! Not RE-A side skirts either, although they do look a little like RE-A D2\'s. Best guess from me is MS.

Does look good, but I think a red rear quarter reflector would look better than the clear one.  Of course I\'d be willing to swap if you agree ;)

Ok, having hunted around for a few pictures, I will agree with FEED for the mirrors and headlight vent.

I\'m not too sure what drag tips are either, although I\'ve got a funny feeling that they may have meant apex seals.

I said that I wasn\'t sure about the T04 as it hasn\'t been on the dyno yet (since I got it), and it\'s difficult to figure out exactly whats been done without taking it off. Should be running safe, as it is on minimum boost at the moment.

Sorry I didn\'t let you drive Si, but even my brother hadn\'t driven it at that point. He had his first drive of it today - and stalled it 3 times before we actually managed to pull away so at least it\'s not just me that finds the clutch tricky. :D

Thanks all for the help identifying the bits.

Oh yeah, and I\'ll keep my clear reflectors for now thanks :p

Or is it a Re-A bonnet like this one?

Still cant find the pic... I know I have it. When it was 1st imported it had to be started with a card, does it still do this?
Title: New Pink Panther pics
Post by: Christopher on March 21, 2004, 05:36:01 PM
Also it had like 14 dials all over the interior have you still got all of them?
Title: New Pink Panther pics
Post by: Roundabout-Now on March 21, 2004, 06:21:11 PM
It doesn\'t need to be started with a card anymore, and it has a few gauges, but not 14 (yet). I think it had rev counter/change light, boost gauge, water temp and oil pressure when I got it off japvillage and it now has 2 more gauges.

Was it a triple rotor when it was imported?

No, it was a 13B with the same Trust front mount and To4R that you have now I guess, look familiar?

When it was imported it had about 4 gauges in the drivers door :) the rest were absalutly everywhere. It was mental.

Well the oil catch tank looks like mine, but as for the rest it\'s a bit different.

Not sure if the turbo is the same one, as that rust isn\'t on mine (may have been cleaned up of course.)

Where do I find the turbine housing a/r - am I right in guessing that it\'s going to be on the side facing the back of the car (and thus a complete b1tch to check)?

Just trying to confirm the turbo type. Sounds like it may be a To4r, but wanted to make sure. Compressor housing does have .70 a/r on it which would tie in with the T04r.

It was a 13B then :)

Turbine was probably cruddy as it had been sat on a boat doing nothing for the proceeding 6 weeks I expect.

Look at the chassis number, hard to read (cant find original full-res pic to zoom in to unfortunately) but should be able to match it to yours I\'d have thought...
