Title: Custom ICE Installs
Post by: KN_ELLIS on June 03, 2008, 03:29:34 PM
I\'m in the process of getting a custom install commissioned for my FD and wanted to get a feel for what other\'s have done with their boots before I press the button. I have the following kit I\'d like to fit in the boot, but want to maintain access to the space saver wheel if possible:

Anyone have any pics they could share??? Also can you recommend any companies in the south east London region?

Cheers

Karl

Or, if you want to loose the whole boot...custom fibre glass build

The box in the corner feeds down to the rear wheel well, which probably isn\'t perfect for what you\'re looking at, but the two tens required a 55 litre box in total, so you\'re probably looking at about a 30 Litre box for a tight 10" sub, which may well fit in there...

It\'s not a perfect soundstage, but with the components in the front, the mid\'s just behind your head and the twin subs in the back, there\'s plenty of ooomph and the sound is great...  It would sound better if the subs both faced the rear windscreen, but I wanted to keep the boot as empty as possible (like yourself), and this locations lent itself.

Did mine too, with the help of a mate who worked (at the time) for a local ICE specialist in the NE.

Poor sod was working on a night time and weekends to show me the ropes.

The company he worked for then ended up re-triming it for me as the leather I used didnt cover the fibre glass enclosures too well and stretched vinyl worked better :)
