Title: Good news and bad news Vol 674
Post by: vixpy1 on June 01, 2008, 10:33:54 PM
First the good news:

Its off the ramp, on its wheels and a runner.. even drove a foot under its own steam too. Doors are on and seats are in. I would say its almost finished!

We made the downpipe meet the exhaust with a fine bit of bodging!

Turbo pipework and rad pipework is all in!

Pics to follow soon.

Now, the bad news...

The fuel gauge does not work, i\'m assuming its a ground issue but can\'t find the specific ground, any ideas chaps?

The water pump was shot, thanks to RXmotors and quick postage we\'ve put another one on and its ok now.

Need to remember to put the spaces on next time on the front wheels, its a bit close!

All 3 of us failed to see the egt bung on the hot side of the turbo, it blows.. a bit. Turbo is back off because lower intake manifold gasket, turbo gasket, and 2 exhaust gaskets are also blowing. Should fix it next week.

Mark keeps laughing at the electric fan i\'ve bought, I need a bigger one.. ideas chaps please?

Cheers,

Charlie.

Try grounding the lid of the tank (where the fuel pump wiring exits) to the body work - when I replaced my fuel pump the harness didn\'t have the extra wire so I was missing a ground, but grounding out the lid did the trick.

I\'ve got a massive Volvo one to go on the front of mine - it\'s about 16" Diameter and has massive air flow - came off a T70 or something similar - but it does draw about 12A when it\'s on.

Nice work chap - be good to see this running :)
