From this.... to this...
Hopefully the extra vents should reduce the lifting at speed due to too much air getting in there :)
Thanks to Clive @ MRP for supplying and fitting this. Still got to sort out locking pins for extra security bit it looks great!
looks very nice buddy!!!! those extra vents are gonna help your temps too.
stunning before and equally stunning after #;o)
Very nice, and it even looks like you cleaned it for once ...

The photo does a great job of hiding the stonechips on the bumper...

You must be joking. That only gets cleaned once every 2 years. ;)
Fish
It should not be lifting much at 70mph!!!!!!
Iain never drives that fast. Flat cap, pipe and slippers suits that boy. :D

Looks good Iain :Thumbs-up

true - his idea of red-lining is to park in the tow away zone whilst he collects his fish supper ... :yes

Nice addition to the FD! Glad to see your still enjoying it.

Problem wasn\'t so much around 70ph more \'on track\' speeds of 110+ were showing noticable lifting. :)
Small point,
the lifting of the bonnet is due to the air flowing over the top surface quicker than it flows underneath, this causes the air pressure to be lower ontop than under which lifts it at speed. This is a fundamental of aerodynamics.
Looks nice Iain.

One of the causes Carl...
Only thing that\'s changed since 170mph+ runs at bruntingthorp is the amount of airflow into the engine bay. Given that the bonnet was rock steady before I\'d put money on it not being the aero over the bonnet causing lift :)
On the plus side though the increased airflow means great cooling - rad, I/C and the intake that\'s not getting lots of cold air! Hopefully the extra vents will allow a little more air out throught he bonnet.
If not I\'ll have to pop over to you to see what else might help.
