I have used the HKS ones, its good stuff, though a bit stiff.  My new car has Bilsteins which are a bit softer and probably better for street use.  Heard good things about Tein super street too

Driftworks new coilovers are really good.  Reasonable price and UK back up which is always a plus.

Which Bilsteins are you using. Are they fixed or can you adjust the height. I have the fixed Bilsteins on my 97 but want to lower it, but i do like the ride.

i have koni\'s on mine and they seem pretty good to me. know of a few people using tein\'s and although they praise their function highly they are dissapointed with them flaking and rusting fairly quickly.

Whilst quickly sticking on my Flame-Proof jacket...stay clear of Tein.

I can supply a set of Nitrons for the car which will out perform any of the above.  And cheaper than the Teins.

Plus if you come to us, we can stick them on the scales and do your corner weights as well as set up the rest of your geometry

I had Teins and was massively impressed with them - worlds apart from the cheaper brands. They also have a UK service centre - more than you can say for a lot of brands :)

I daresay there are better ones from the likes of Ohlins, but for what they cost me, it\'s all good :)
You can get them for well under a grand from a UK service centre (Mono Flex)

No idea, came on the car from Japan and most of the labelling has come off now. The HKS will go dead low if thats what you\'re after.

Are the Nitrons good for the street or are they more for track - sounds good if you set the car up too :mmmm

Hope that asbestos coat is in place Jon :rollin

We have supplied and fitted Tein for 6 years now and not had one complaint return or leaking shock from any of our many many customers.

We have had the likes of HKS, Koni Bilstein and Nitrons etc on offer for our customers since our company formed however my personal choice has always been Tein for FD road cars that also go and do track days.

It was actually the Flex kit that drew me to them and that has now been superseded by an even better Mono Flex shock, why ?

Because I believe the Flex kit is the only good kit on the market for the type of money they cost that is not just a track day kit that can be used on the road, indeed I have spoken to Tein direct that the Flex kit would appear to be one of the very few kits around designed properly for the road but will work on track as well and not the other way around, and Tein agree with these finding based on my own and many customers own findings,

The real nice thing about the Flex kit on the road is that it takes all the crashyness out of the car when you hit the pot holes on our roads that will take your teeth with most of the kits mentioned above,

But don\'t be fooled into thinking this Flex kit is "just" a road kit as one of the more notable stories comes from our track-day aholic James Baring who many of you know,

After being to Snetterton many times with his FD he went back with just one change, that being a new Flex kit that we fitted and with the same tyres, engine, brakes etc found he was now going through the chicane so much faster that he was getting chronic fuel surge!

I may be wrong but this is the first time I have seen criticism leveled at Tein on this site and tell many of our customers to use the search button to look at our customers good remarks,

We could have probably sold many more kits had we promoted one of the cheaper brands we have had available, however we would rather promote and sell Tein and know our customers will bolt on something of some quality that will not only work very well but also last and be reliable and above all will make our customers happy about the money they have spent,

Hope this helps dispel the above comments :cool

Hi Michael,

If you paid 1500 it was too much as it should have been around  1200 fitted :3Confused

Almost forgot, here\'s a link to the Flex kit in our on-line shop that will give your FD a real nice ride as well as making it perform quicker around corners on track and road.

I\'d like to echo MRP\'s thoughts on the Flex - I had a set of \'generic\' (i.e. \'D2\' etc) chocks on my SX and was reasonably happy for what they cost me. I then rode in a friend\'s Flex equipped car. I then promptly sold my shocks and bought some Flex. That\'s how impressed I was.
Car control was leaps and bounds ahead - well balanced, poised, and very well damped. In all the time i had them i didn\'t touch the damping control once it was set up - because the Teins were so well valved that they coped with everything I threw at them.
I was constantly having to adjust the previous ones - If oyu set the damping to cope with low speed stuff, it was too loose on the high speed stuff. If you set it top cope with high speed stuff, it was crashy and over damped on both compression and rebound on the low speed stuff.
The Teins were just a revelation - no crashyness, no noises, no bouncyness, just a massively refined ride.

If you think that some of the cheaper setups are fine, then try a ride in something more regarded, and you\'ll see what you are missing :)

Hi Clive, hope you are well

They were fitted by the previous owner and I inherited the receipt
I must say that 4 years later and they still going strong

Proof is in the pudding – tein all the way
