Title: Pan Speed ecu
Post by: Macer on May 31, 2008, 05:10:36 PM
Has anyone run one of these in the UK?

If so, did you have any issues with UK fuel? They\'re based on the standard ecu, as far as I know, and are not mappable.

Thanks for replying - good to know someone else who\'s running one of these! When you say it runs "funny", what do you mean. Are you getting det?

Yeah, will do Andy - I\'ll get it on the dyno soon as I can after picking up. It\'s a good excuse for a drive if nothing else :yes. I\'m hoping Tesco 99 will be ok, as well as V Power, but we\'ll see...

Dont use Tesco 99 it will Det, Tesco fuel use a percentage of Ethanol in the fuel in there 99 Octane, you need more volume to flow from the injectors therefore a remap.
Stick to shell v-power

My english is not good enough to explain what "funny" means..

But i can give it a try.. For example when im in a high gear, lets say 4\'th.  and having about 3k rpm and give it full throttle then it "bumps" - must be DET.

I thought the MON of Tesco 99 was higher than Vpower etc ?

we are not talking octane values here, Ethanol on its own yeilds higher octane values but you have to squirt more of it in volume to yield the same power.
Guys in america running on Ethanol in US e85 have up the injector duty(remap) so then do not run lean, if you didnt the afrs will change to leaner values.
Tesco were using 5% blend a couple of years ago it maybe more now.
I remember mapping my car on vpower last year , then put a tankful of tesco99 my afrs went from 11 to 11.5 (leaner)
