changing the rear brakes at the min and just want to check if its the bolts G & L that i take out, fit the new pads on the assembly still attached to the wheel with the shims etc, then fit the caliper back over the pads etc? following the manual but just want to be sure cuz those bolts are a ******* to get lose!
thanks
Not sure what you mean by bolts G and L, but think they are the right ones - basically there are only two you need to remove one at the top one and one at the bottom. This removes the middle of the caliper for you to put the pads on - like you said.
They are usually dead tight, I usually use a spanner and hit with a hammer to get the necessary force to loosen.
cheers mate, yeah the bolts have a G and an L on the head of them and that matches to markings on the caliper, just so the right bolts go back in the right place. i just read the manual diagram wrong, but Clive was good enough to confirm it for me.
As for the spanner and hammer, ive been giving it heaps with that and cannot get it shifted at all! plus i dont want to ed up rounding out the heads by battering it. gave the bolts a good soaking in wd overnight but think it ight be an excuse to get an impact wrench
cheers again mate

they are tight aren\'t they?
i jacked the car up enough that i could get a socket set on, then a bar over the end of the socket set...
