Due to a couple of things we have taken the decision to cancel Billing
First of all we have had a distinct lack of interest from the club and secondly it\'s British Grand Prix weekend which we didn\'t realise when we booked the pitch so the chances of all you lot coming along are very very slim plus we were hoping to get a catering company in to try and give you some nice food but they have gone out of business, so putting this all together we are going to cancel.
We thought of doing this to take the club back to Billing as it was the place where many of you all met each other, plus many of you have fond memory\'s as this was essentially where the Japanese car movement was founded.
If enough come forward then we will try and get an alternative date, if not we will just concentrate on Rotorstock which after all is the Rotary worlds premier event which is only a month later,
Shame i was looking forward to this.
Had days booked off as well, nevermind if there aint enugh people turning out to the events then i guess its the right thing to do, so as not to cost the club a heap of money.
Guess the turnout to japfest has helped make this decision, lots of prebooked tickets and not many takers, even though it was one of the biggest events this year.
Steve,
There\'s still the Retro Show taking place at Santa Pod just up the road on the Saturday:WaveBye
Hey Clive, thats a shame as i was looking forward to this aswell. Hopefully enough people will take an interest and can re-arrange :)
Sorry to hear it. Hope to see you at Retroshow :D Lets get some rotors down the strip and show them ford pops who means buisness :Giggle
Shaun
Sorry to hear this, myself and my brother and our two rex\'s would still be well up for this.
As JAE has become a farce I\'m gonna miss camping but it would be fun to have a barby whilst watching the GP with you guys. All we\'d need is a portable tele and a generator / batteries.
Still keen.
Mart.
real shame but understandable, a friend of mine has been working on a electrical contract at Billing and it looks like they are trying to put more trailers up there not sure if you are going to see many more meets up there in the next couple of years
will be at the retro show though so will see you all there
Mark
Ill be at t retro show as well but would be nice if we could get more support for this as its a great venue, then we could maybe organise a new date.
Shame as this is one of the rare times when all the family could have come. Nevermind as there will be more opportunities and I would rather spend my money attending an event with more than a handful of people in attendance. We are living in strange times, I see it at work all the time with the new generation of people and I guess trying to Reminisce the good old days is just not the \'in thing\' these days. Not sure what the future holds for events such as these, perhaps a whole new way of thinking is needed to attract the interest levels and also to ensure attendance is in abundance.
Fair cop Pete but I think arranging it on a weekend that is agreed on beforehand and doesn\'t clash with the British GP would have seen numbers far better.
:yes

Hi Unfortunately, the only dates that Billing could give us in July was the 5th & 6th, but at the time I did not realise that it clash with the British GP.
However, I have asked about a weekend in September, so I will consult the GP diary and see if we can sort womething out - it\'s usually nice in September and we do not have an event that month.
Cool, thanks Lisa.
Didn\'t want that to sound like a complaint but I just re-read it...:2eek
Sorry. :Thumbs-up
