Title: Standard boost
Post by: muzzyd on March 11, 2004, 07:51:55 PM
What is the standard boost in an rx?  Reason I ask is that my boost is at 1.2bar according to the gauge.  Is this too high?

way high 1 bar tops, think standard boost is around .8 to ,85 bar. You will kill the turbos quickly and poss the engine.

YES in a word have you had ECU played with just mine was going over 1.1 although my ECU had a fuel cut defensor added, irrelevant as to why yours is doing it but seems a hell of a lot without getting fuel cut. But defo too much for standard get it checked out to see if it is doing it, ie whether yer guage is reading true, as from what i\'ve read anything over .9 without suitable mods may risk poor fueling etc & either way potentially BAD

Hi Muz,

Don\'t forget you have induction kit, front mount intercooler, panspeed ecu, straight through exhuast system, so your certainly not going to be near stock boost levels.

Cheers guys, I had thought it was a bit high, but you reckon its ok for the mods I have?  Its a blitz gague that takes a reading from somewhere near the vacum and converts it to a digital signal for the gauge.  Didnt fit it so not sure exactly how it works but the red light comes on anything after 0.6bar, first turbo seems to do 1.1, 2nd turbo 1.2, used the memory setting on the gauge to keep track of what it boosting.

Also running 104 octane fuel I picked up from some rally guys ibn Aberdeen, it runs very well indeed but at near £2.60 per liter not sure I will be doing a lot of runs with it:(
