Hiya,
Could someone help me please... I just replaced the brake servo hose which had a lovely great split in it which nearly caused me to entirely lose my brakes and now if I put my foot down hard on the accelerator at around 3 /4000 rpm there is a hisssss sound which seems to come from almost under the drivers seat / steering wheel and that is followed by a petrol smell.
The brake hose replacement I guess may be coincidental but b4 it was replaced the car was fine. Also, when this hisss sound appears it is followed by a sort of farting noise as if something if vibrating on the chassis / body. There also seems to be no loss in power and the car feels fine...
Thanks,
Jim
Anyone :(
Did you remove the intake pipes at all? If you run the car without the intake pipes that connect the Turbos to the AirBox, you get a sort of a farting sound.
I cant explain the fuel smell, though. Just go back to it and check our work meticulously. Sounds like too much of a coincedence to me.
did you touch the vacume line for the brake booster?
going on personal experience the smell of fumes and hissing at around 4 grand could be a blown inlet manifold gasket, whats your idle like? (i\'m probley miles off )
good luck!:)
No, didn\'t touch anything other than the brake servo hose which had a split in it and so now replaced.
Idle is fine as is the actual feel of the car... no loss in power ?
Can anyone recomend anyone in the South Wales (Cardiff) area that might be able to have a look ?
J
Sorted.. ! The brake servo hose the local mechanic had fitted was not correct and didn\'t have a valve within it, (it was just a piece of pipe).
It took me a trip down to South West Wales from Cardiff just to sort it out as this capital city was no help.
Anyway, Mosleys Garage in Llandielo and the local Madza down there (Rotary club member too) sorted it and Mr Mazda even gave me his brake hose from his RX7 which is having some work done on it, (in fact he had about 3 RX7\'s !!)
Fantastic,
Jim
