Title: Recoring an Intercooler
Post by: Gatesy on May 20, 2008, 12:45:42 PM
I\'ve got an ARC intercooler on my FD that has alot of bent splines on it where it has been battered by stones and the like over the years.
Now I\'ve looked at getting a replacement one which will cost me about £250+ but does anyone know roughly how much it would cost to have my existing one recored?

You might not need it re-cored to be honest, you can get "fin combs" which you run along and this straightens out the fins.  We use these in the air conditioning industry and maybe worth a go for £13 odd quick if the intercooler isn\'t too badly damaged....

Oooohhhh thats interesting my uncle works for an air conditioning firm I\'ll give them a try.  Might be ok for a short term fix but there are some dents in my IC that I dont think will pull out very easily.
