Hi guys,
Bit of a strange electrical fault. My cd player decided to stop working a couple of days ago even though it is only 5 months old. Then i also noticed that the interior reading lights(above the rear view mirror) have stopped working too. However everything else is working fine, all other electricals are ok.
Any ideas what could be causing this? dodgy fuse? loose connection? its odd that its just the reading lights and cd player.
One other thing i noticed is that my tachometer keeps resetting to zero every time i restart the car?!?! random.
Any help from you electrical geniuses would be much appreciated.
Sounds like a blown fuse. Check your fuses in the drivers footwell.
Blown fuse - has your trip counter started resetting on every journey?
yeah, thats a red 10amp fuse (if we\'re talking fd anyway!)
Yeah that fuse controls steroe and interior lights, as above sounds like the fuse has blown but you will need to find out why
Cheers guys, i will check tonight, i presume i can pick up a fuse from halfrauds?
Ash - not sure why its happened. The stereo and lights have been working fine since i got the car and i havent added anything to overload the circuit. Bit weird. I do have a loose earth on my battery that needs a bit of attention so could possibly be that?
Thanks for all the help though everyone
ahh gotta love the electrical gremlins, mine sometimes decides not to turn the stereo off when i remove the key. My battery loves that little trick when i\'m in a rush and don\'t notice. Id try n fix it but quite like the cars little quirks.
yeah i think the quirks add a certain level of \'character\'!haha.
I feel sorry for boring porsche/audi drivers with their reliable cars. B-O-R-I-N-G!
