im sure its a stock unit. Could the diff have been locked so both wheels drive the same? how can i test if it is?

I had this:
Do you have an uprated clutch?
If you do (probably the same for standard clutch) but you have to pull away \'all or nothing\' I found that if I revved much higher, it just spun the wheels instead of hopping...

rather than in between possibly the cause of the wheel hop

yeah its a strange one, clucth is standard with new friction plate about 1000 miles ago.

Could be the bushes on the diff mount have gone. They are located on the top of the diff casing. You can get poly bush ones that are stiffer.

Only other thing I can think of is that the powerplant frame could be broken. Thought the aftermarket diff reduced wheel hop.

Is everything stock ? Uprated antiroll bars may cause it, possibly bad rubber. Lots of factors !

when i changed the diff mounts i droped the subframe just to clean everything up so all rubbers etc seem fine. All is stock apart from toe control arms and now have coilover suspension. The car used to hop before the uprated parts were fitted.

i found that the parts that sorted wheel hop (tramp) the best was changing the top rear wihsbone bushes for polybush as the top arm has movement front to rear for rear steer and they get soft and "pant" front to back and cause wheel hop.i tried shocks, rose jointed bars but this just made it hasrh but the top bush made a massive dirrefence, also check your engine mounts,

think i will change the top wishbone bushes, its about the only thing on the car thats not new, engine mounts have been replaced not long ago.
