Title: Cheap classic policy
Post by: najiru on May 16, 2008, 08:33:29 AM
Just sorted insurance for my 95 FD with Peter Best on their classic policy for £130 fully comp with breakdown recovery for anywhere in europe to any uk destination. I\'m 25 and used no ncb as it\'s on another car.

This is for only 3k miles but they go up to 9k on the classic policy. Also if your car is a 93 or older it\'s cheaper again. Bargain in my book :D

did you say your car was a 1.3 or 2.6. the reason i ask is because of the quick quote thing on the web page

Right, sorry for the delay in responding but I\'ve been away.

Contact details:

Tel. 01376 573033 (classic line)
web. www.classicinsurance.co.uk (http://www.classicinsurance.co.uk)

I don\'t know about whether it HAS to be a second car as when they asked I said yes but I think I could have said no although that might make a big difference to the premium.

I think you have to be 25 to take out the policy, or at least a named driver has to be. I think all the rules on that are on the web site, though they seem very accomodating if you call them.

I only have alloys listed as mods but they seem good about it as they are generally dealing with hobby cars.

I said mine was a 1.3 as that\'s what\'s in the log book. I did actually try to explain that it was a rotary and therefore sometimes classed higher but she didn\'t understand lol. In the end I gave up and just said 1.3

From my dealings with them so far they seem very good, I would recommend them from a service point of view as well as price.

Yeah i would agree, very very helpful, she asked me if mine was 2.6 and i tried to explain about it being a 1.3, in the end she said she would put it as a 1.3 but it didn\'t really matter and would not affect the cost.

I thought they offered a very good quote especially with all the mods declared.

Would recommend anyone who\'s insurance is up for renewal to give em a phone.

Oh, she did ask if i was a member of any Owners Clubs and i said MRC, dunno if it made a difference or not.
