Title: How much for wheel bearings?
Post by: rotorhead666 on March 10, 2004, 06:04:21 PM
I urgently need new wheels bearings on the front, and wondered if anyone has had any experience in buying/having them fitted(especially from Mazda,if possible).I would like to know how much the total cost was,and how long it took to obtain the bearings.Specifically,it\'s for a 1st gen,but i\'d be interested to hear anyones stories.

Mazda will charge you loads,
But a bearing is a bearing, get the no. off the bearing(s)
NOT the part no. and go through the good old yel pages bearing
sup(s) and theyll get them out of a catalouge (the same bearings will be ussed in a lawnmower or a tank or something unimaginable.
prob . cost you about £25 inner and outer.
If its like a 2nd gen a complete alloy hub set is abot £250 Mazda.
Fitting is easy also. Back to the Y. pages engineering work shops
cut out and pressin £25ish
Paul..

Just been through all this with my 323. Mazda and the local spares shop wanted £41.00 for inner and outer rear bearings. I only needed the outer, though.

Got it from the place below for £12 including postage!
