Title: Got my Geometry done
Post by: strange_days_uk on May 14, 2008, 10:43:34 AM
Now the car feels much more planted, and I can feel every little bump on the road

damn thing wants to kick the back end out all the time though, I don\'t think my rear tyres are gonna last very much longer !! :Nono!

Had mine done last week too, after refreshing the whole chassis with new bushings.....

Can\'t really explain the difference it made. All I say is I didn\'t know FD can handle like this:eek:

Always get mine done when I\'ve changed any suspension parts, bushes etc. What settings did you guys go for?

Got mine done about 3-4 months ago, OMG, how different does it make the car feel! I was seriously impressed.
The garage got the standard settings and matched them, then as i have lowered sus they changed settings about a bit and now it\'s like having a new car

I went for the standard setting too... I will need to dig the sheets out to find the data...

What toe was it set to on the rear? if the back feels unstable, try a more neutral setting :) It\'s amazing what even half a degree can do :)

need mine doing very soon as iv just changed the suspension, antirollbars(including droping the front mounts by 15mm), droplinks, rear toelinks, rear trailing arms, wheels and tyres and diff mounts, among other things and its getting a little twitchy and tramming a bit.
Would be interested to see what settings people have used.
Think i may go for as close to mazda stock settings as will allow.

Ok here are my settings, before and after.  No wonder I am having so much drift fun (and trust me there has been much more), I have -1 degree camber on the rear :)

cool, I like how my car drives now, but my tyres really dont !!

Where did you get it done? My thought was I\'d have to go to somewhere like Weston performance to get my coilovers set up. also was planning to visit my mates at Kwik fit to get the alignment sorted to stop the car pulling left.. or is that kind of the same thing?!

Whoa, there are some strange strange settings on that printout!

First of all, 1 degree camber on the rear is fine - No probs with that.
BUT...
Zero toe would make it a bit mroe stable and less twitchy.
The camber setting son the front seem a bit odd odd? Not much camber at all as far as I can see, and quite a variation!

BenLewisMav - Kwick fit will generally only adjust toe, and be careful, they often only do it witht he wheels relative to each other - what you really want is somewhere like Weston who have a decent full 4 wheel laser alignment setup - this should offer toe castor and camber adjustment in line with the whole car, which is what you need to make the most of the car.

2 10/ths variation is nothing.

But yeah would kinda expect maybe a degree of camber on the front.

I like how it handles, but yeah maybe could do with being a little less twitchy :)

I agree with SiH... the settings are equal, but seem a little out compaird to the recomended settings on the site here......

This is where I got my settings from:

I whent for the long track setting & it handles like a dream..... although it is a little unruly at the mo because of a slight bushing problem!!
