ok basically i went for a ride last night, proper hammered my car(was doing about 160 mph) got back home left my car,m went upstairs and i heard like something snapped, looked out the window and i could see steam coming from under the bonet. couldn\'t see nothing so i have checked it today, basically two hoses got ripped open, they in 1000 pieces somewhere on the driveway. i have taken pics and i can only assume that the bottom one was for overflow tank, but what about this one:

now, i have replaced pulleys,belt, and the radiator but my new rad hasn\'t got a hole to put a hbose for overflow tank. why is that? can i connect this little hose just next to the radiator cap straight to my overflow tank instead?

1st pic, is the feed into the Air seperation tank. 2nd is the AST overflow pipe. The 3rd pic is for the air con condensor, which isnt there ???

looks to me like your ast has exsploded and all your left with is the pipes that goto it ?
the 3rd pic is your aircon or lack of it, it looks like its been removed at some point, either remove the rest or ignore it :D
when you say in a million pices i think that may be your ast as those pipes look to be intact
I know 2 people who say there ast has exploded on them.
you should find a rad cap somewhere if it has.

the milion pieces weren\'t my AST, it\'s all in 1 piece, it was some plastic bits(like a spiral around those two rubber hoses)- sorry i should have explained.
but please tell me what should i do now? if the hose from the filler neck goes to my ast- the body of it right? so what about the other one? it runs from the ast as well and ends where? where should i put it in to? i havent got nothing on the radiator...

The hose in the second picture goes from the neck of the AST to the expansion bottle in the driver\'s side front wheel well. It has a bit of spiral nylon tape stuff around it to stop it getting crimped where it goes under the intercooler and stuff and along the cross-member
ok i didn\'t have ast, just connected this two hoses together so i got one coming out the filler neck and going straight to the overflow tank,
just filled it with water for now to check if everything is ok and it looks like it is :)
just one thing, i left the engine running for a while and was hoping that these fans on a radiator will go off......
they didnt..:(
so how long do i need to wait for them to start? or how do i check if they work?
