Title: Yellow FC in Hinckley area?
Post by: topi on May 06, 2008, 10:44:37 PM
Just out of interest.

Spotted a nice looking bright yellow FC around the Hinckley/Barwell area a few times. Belong to a member on here?
Never had much chance to gander at it, but noticed it was spoilerless, on white wheels and has the bonnet vent (Turbo II?)

If so, I\'ve got the white and black Nissan Sil80 - give us a shout some time!

Yeah I\'ve seen the red (NA I think) one around too, but this one was deffinately very bright yellow. It did look like a fresh paint job so maybe it\'s the same one?

Are you the guy thats had the various cool cars, near the junior school? Ha

I\'ve seen one around Hinckley a fair bit, and I\'ve seen it at Mallory Park before too. I remember following it through town before when I was in my stealthy Jetta, and it sounded awesome haha.

What are you doing to silence it?
I\'m going to have to do the same thing by the looks of it to get on most tracks! :P

i don\'t know!!!

its had the baffles removed so its rather loud. Ive been told by the last owner to get a new silencer and a new back box, but a  silencer that really does it\'s job will slow the car down and i have no idea how good a high flow silencer will be.

i put up a post about it

but no replies :(

Can\'t you just make some baffels for it? Mine has removable baffles in the back boxes. basicly just a bit of plate cut to the right shape with a bolt hole cut into the back box to attatch it. I\'ll try and get a pic of one over the weekend if I get the chance.

but doesn\'t that slow it down?

there doesn\'t seem to be a way to make these cars quiet without sacrificing the few horsies it has

There is a way of really limiting the effect, but it is pricey and takes a LOT of calculation on the old fluid dynamics/air flow thing. An FC owner who isn\'t on here anymore spent a long time with spreadsheets and formulas designing a custom system which lost very little from his original setup (he had a TII running over 480bhp) and after some carefuls exhaust design and mapping he had a car running under 99dB with about 20bhp less (which isn\'t much off the 480)

spose its a lot different on a turbo charged car though

you\'d be lucky to get 20bhp from an  aftermarket exhaust on an N/A car
