Title: !978 Mk1 Rx7
Post by: 1978MK1RX7 on May 05, 2008, 11:29:38 AM
Hello

Here is my RX7,
since owning it,only used it as a weekend toy,and have not used it for eight years now,so its been parked up in the garage, it has covered 98K miles but had an engine rebuild at 93K miles by the first owner who brought it back with him from Japan as he was posted over there as he was in the RAF, its as it left the factory apart from the interior that the owner replaced before i brought it,and the passenger door repainted due to a nasty scratch by a push bike well stored up hence it not quite the same colour!!

So i have just taken it out of the garage for a wash and it started first time after primming it over,so will try and use it this summer..

Oh any idea what its worth these days as it was valued at 2K eight years ago for the insurance

Welcome mate.
That\'s a very early car! Up \'til now I have only ever seen \'V\' plate Series 1\'s (SA\'s).
When you\'re fully running and cleaned up, I would suggest Agreed Value Insurance at £3500/£4000.
For selling purposes, £1750 up to your £2000 if someone is seeking a very early model and there\'s not too much to do to it.
Just my view, someone else might have other thoughts.

Hi
I recently sold a 1979 one,if you look through the posts you\'ll see it advertised to give you an idea of price.
The advantage of yours is an engine rebuild if you can prove it,
disadvantages are incorrect interior, seats from later model & body needs attention.
Has it got mot?
Price with mot £1300>£2000 depending on condition of body & floorpan.
I sold mine for £1500 cash on ebay about a month ago.
