Title: Reparing Engine harness - Yellow ECU Connectors
Post by: imebgo on May 02, 2008, 09:54:13 AM
Im looking into getting a new engine harness, (a second hand one) but before I do I thought I would see if it was possible to repair the yellow ecu connectors?

Im having difficulty with the electrics, things keep breaking pins need reinforcing.. alsorts of trouble and I think just think it would be beneficial to remove the harness and replace, or if possible replace the yellow connectors at the ECU.  Can this be done easily - could it be sent of to be repaired?

Thanks,
James

Personally, i\'d like to make my own as I\'m single turbo so don\'t need half the connectors. But it\'s getting hold of those yellow ones you\'re talking about, and the other sensor plugs that\'s the difficult bit. Apparently a brand new harness is about £300, so I\'m told.

Yea, thats the problem, where do you get the connectors from.. and how do you assembly them ;)

Thanks,

James

I once started doing a westfield kit car, and many of the electrical plugs on that are the same type we have for out sensors - so you can get them, and they\'re dead easy to assemble. But i don\'t know where you get them from!! And, as you say, those ECU yellow ones are even harder to find. Very specific to the FD by the looks of it.
