Hi all
a) I left a thread about my secondary turbo not working at all. i Have just lifted my UIM and found 2 crushed solid flat pipes. see pic. would these stop the 2nd turbo coming in?....... I am going to replace them and then put it back together to see if it works. it seems obvious that soemone has swapped these and installed them wrongly, so hopefully this will work
b) Can i tie the flapper open and then see if it runs non seq? or do i have to do other things first.
c) Can i use my pfc mapped for non seq on my seq car? they will both be the same power apart from the new one has a exedy flywheel and triple plate clutch. Can people swap maps on the pfc using a laptop etc? I just dont fancy paying 300 quid for my car to get thrashed on a rolling road
thanks alot all
If you have the vacuum hose diagram you can see what these pipes would be controlling or controlled from, can\'t tell from that photo where they connect to/from...
Can\'s answer b or c mate sorry....
Can\'t imagine the flat pipes are going to help any tho...
a - most likely yeah thats your problem, i had a few hoses that stuck together n stoped the car boosting.
b - dont think that a work but theres a poor mans version thats easy to do.
c - r u serious? every cars map is different so another might run your car lean and blow it up, pip maps a car for £250. Not sure on the non-seq to seq map but you need to change the commander from seq to non-seq.
hope that helps lol
c- Pip mapped my car for 300 quid on a hand controller!! I was just under the impression two like for like modified cars you could swap maps and monitor them on a laptop etc, im sure people do this! i can imagine the non seq set up running lean on a seq set up. So can i run non seq on a standard un mapped ecu? No?
How do you do it interloper393? your my hero.
Those are long pipe runs! Yeah re do them take your time and make sure ther are no kinks (or even fetish\'s) involved :rollin
The one with the check valve is part of the controll system cant say what though with such a close photo but i dont remember any of my pipes encroching over the coil packs.
well i am special lol...
Erm im sure maps n be swoped over but on a piston engine you cud prob get away with it more than a rotary? as for the non-seq your still pushing the same power so im not 100% lol, phone a vendor up and see what they say :P
your my hero 2 :yes
The first turbo spooling alone will require more fuel as the torque curves well better on low revs, hmmm. i really hope this solves it as i dont fancy doing any more tube swapping. any more ideas anyone.
Check it all over while your under there. look for splits too as you\'d be kicking yourself if you found it to be a split pipe later on after you rebuilt it. :yes
Have you checked that all the solenoids hold good pressure? There is often a prob caused by a tiny spring that seizes up and causes the solenoid to fail.
I have not checked the solenoids hold pressure, how do i do this>?
Is the rats nest just what i can see from here? or is there more under the, injector thingies? I can check all i can see from here without much problem but do i eed to remove anything else to see other pipes?
If i went single how much of this would go?
In regarding maps, most non seq maps are just modified seq map.
In theory I doubt the mapper would have taken fuel out in the boost area of cells of the first turbo as Non seq wont hit these, so in theory you should be ok, but I wouldnt risk it personally.
I would just get your rats nest fixed yourself to save money, do a search on this forum you should find links on how to fix the rats nest and test the solenoids
I\'ve found this link realy useful "cough" http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44377 (http://www.mazdarotaryclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44377)
You say you are worried about \'thrashing\' it at a rolling road...the more you rev a rotary the more oil it gets...which is a good thing lol its a rotary, not a \'stationary\' lol :D
HEY I REPLACED THE 2 HOSE AND GUESS WHAT, MY 2ND TURBO INTAKE IS NOW BLOWING AIR OUT ON IDLE, I ASSUME THIS MEANS ITS FIXED AS IT WAS ONLY THE PRIMARY INTAKE BLOWING BEFORE. I SORTED THE CRUSHED PIPES. WONT KNOW FOR CERTAIN TILL TOMORROW
:m1tch No mate your wrong i didnt mention "worried" and thats not the point of the thread. ill come round to yours, you give me 300 quid and ill mess with your mixture on my hand controller while your engines under load for 30 mins. Id rather just not do it unless i have to. What im quite rightly trying to establish mainly for the sake of my wallet is "do i have a need?" Ive had it done before. And in my mind i know that if even a reputable tuner has little work on, all he has to do is lean your mix out under load you engine goes pop and hey presto youve already signed a disclaimer. Thats what scares me mucker.
Yes rotaries are free revving and i rag the balls out of mine but i dont want anyone else doing it. Id prefer to keep the ball in my court, then if it goes out of play i only have myself to blame. FYI ive had my car on the rollers a few times and i dont like it.
Thanks blitz and cheers bobbit but hopefully ive done it, my car has only done 20 miles in this country i wonder how long it has been so slow cos of that dodgy fix in japan. So if i go non seq ill be ok with my map cos of the extra fuel in that area of revs, im wondering will my pfc non seq map sun my red car ok on seq at about 15hp less than my other, (the red has a cat) in my mind this would be ok. any reasons why not?
Oh blitz wouldnt you get more power lower down the revs if you took fuel out on the map? or is that only higher up the rev range, and rich is good for low down tourque? and before i get flamed i know "lean is bad"
