So I have my universal length of Fuel Rail, and I need to have it cut to length, drilled and tapped. Anyone know of anyone around the Farnborough area that can machine this?
Cheers
OJ
Hacksaw and drill not good enough for you then? :D :p
*grin* Absolutely, but it\'s drilling and tapping the ends for the -10an aeroquip fittings that I\'m not so sure about... I\'ll happily have a go if someone can advise on drill size to bore it out to, and tap size to use (not to mention where I get this stuff)
Get yourself a Zues book and then never look back :yes
What, like Cat in the Hat or Green Eggs and Ham?
Anyhow, I think Ive found what I need - 20.5mm drillbit (20.4 would have been perfect, but more than double the price), and a 7/8 unf tap. Soon gonna find out, anyhow... *grin*
not to mention star bellied sneetches !
MR YATES!!!! How the devil are you???
I\'ve moved now, so I hope the propshaft hasn\'t gone to the flats... *grin* I\'m hoping to be playing ont he car late sunday or Monday, so could pop over to pick it up if you\'re about, unless you\'re out for a drive farnborough way....
What fittings do you have, 7/8 UNF is for the AN side. I would have thought you would need a pipe thread BSP/NPT?
Bish, all fine. If only I\'d thought... just been to Bournemouth for the weekend, could have dropped it off.
Dude, I will be around this weekend, replacing cambelt and water pump on MX-5 (BLOODY piston engines!). Probably out sailing on Sat afternoon, but I can leave it available for you.
Also probably out Mon afternoon.
Yup - it\'s going into the fuel rail itself, and the fitting I was recommended is a 10an (fuel rail side) to -8an reducer on the feed side, and -10an to -6an reducer on the return side. So need to tap for the -10an going into the rail. Diagram (apparently by a 5 year old:o) attached
