Lotus Espirt 3.5 V8 Twin Turbo? Just as a matter of interest if both were in stock form?
now that would be an interesting in terms of a drag race, be quite close I would imagine
The Lotus by a long shot.
0-60 both roughly the same at around high 4s low 5s, 0-100 yep the Lotus would have it
at 11.
So stock for stock Lotus v8 twin would win

Have you been reading the lotus esprit buyers guide in the new evo mag by any chance? I just read it & thought they looked a great supercar bargain.
0-60 = 4.2
0-100 = 10.2

A mate of mine has just bought one..... Of course he\'s started rotary bashing now he\'s got it. He thinks my RX7 is standard though. ;)
lol Sleeper ,what spec you have? If you got 400fly hp , you will have better power to weight so be quicker a straight line, you better hope he has not upped the boost on his turbos as well
if he turned up the boost on the Lotus the car would fall to pieces!
They are great as standard, mess about with them and they start to go wrong...and thats when you realise that Rotary bills are actually quite cheap!!!
WGT rebuilt streetported engine with about 2K on it running stock twins, apexi filters, koyo rad, kakimoto cat back and powerFC. First time pip mapped it had real problems with exhaust being far too restrictive and was only seeing just under 280hp.
So went home, sulked for abit, then ordered and fitted greddy downpipe, unsilenced mid pipe and blitz nur spec, bigger fuel pump plus AVCR with slight raise in boost saw just over 350hp.
Thing is i\'ve had a TD06 25G greddy turbo kit along with a few other bits sat in garage for past year or so waiting to go on, so this might be abit of an incentive for me to get it fitted.
Would like it though if stock twins would see it off... but i really think i\'ve reached about the limit of what my twins can take at the moment.
yeah stick the single on and really demolish him, dont let him see whats underneath the bonnet though lol
Lol..... To the garage I go.... :D
there is a performance converter in the link so that will help you out.

Problem would occur the moment you drove it into the sea. Obviously the RX-7 isn\'t at home in this environment (as Sicknote proved adequately), whereas the lotus (even in an early form) folds its wheels up, and converts to a more than adequate submarine. Similarly, the build quality of the Lotus is significant, as bullet shot at point blank range will simply deflect, whereas the RX-7\'s thin panels will almost certainly offer little to no protection.
On the other hand, the alarm on the RX-7 will sound and deter thieves, wheras the lotus will explode, killing any aspiring theif but destroying itself in the process...
They are similar, in that they will both happily produce large oil slicks, and are highly desirable sports cars.
I hope this helps...

However try and cure that leak from the windows in any kind of rain... How they made it waterproof is truly beyond me.
lol LOTUS =
Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They\'re almost identical in the effects they\'ll have; you\'ll be on first name terms with the local RAC man, bloke on the motor factor parts counter, and your bank manager. Only real difference is the Rex looks more stylish on the hard shoulder with its hazards on...
Doesn\'t the Esprit use the gearbox out of some Renault or something, and now they\'ve stopped making them or the parts to rebuild them? That\'s not going to help much!
I remember 5th gear trying to make one go 200mph!
They upped the boost etc.....it fell aprt on them each time they attempted it.....gearbox, turbo\'s, engine....all went kablamooooh!
I had an Esprit turbo whilst at Uni....fantastic car! One of the best looking cars, and chicks did dig the car! ;)
Things started going wrong with it though....and thats when you realise what supercar ownership is all about, and going fast isnt the top of the list, passion is...cos without it you would soon hate the car! Almost bought one recently, but I think the Rx just has that edge that the Lotus didnt..plus Ive now loads of spare parts for when it goes wrong!!!
