Post by: pixy on April 29, 2008, 05:06:25 PM
hi, i have a ball joint gone on the passenger side lower arm and i\'ve been told i cant get it seperately from the whole arm which is extortionate money!  is this true ?  if so would anyone have a spare lower arm they would be willing to sell me? i can feel the play in it while driving and its knocking a bit as well, need a good one as MOT due next month! cheers

if they are like the gen1\'s they need to be pressed out and new ones pressed in (some tack weld it too)
i would check to see if you can buy ball joints for that year, if you must be able to change just them :yes

i\'ve done many ball joints before and most just press out or unbolt (i havent had a good look at how they attach in the arm yet though) but mazda told me i need the whole arm for £350 +vat as they dont do the joints for this car, and my local motor factors do the joints for every model except the turbo so they said dealer only. looks like i need to find some second hand ones quick then!
Very nice parts guy though at the mazda dealer though i must add - even knew my car by seeing it around when i said it was an FC.
