Title: Decent quotes for young drivers?
Post by: Bunggle on April 25, 2008, 09:03:16 AM
I\'ve got a mate who is 19 with 2 years no claims and he\'s desperate to get a Supra. He\'s tried Adrian Flux, AON, Sky... and they all told him to sod off! Only luck he had was with Bell with no engine mods. Anyone know anyone else he could try? I\'m with Bell on my FD so need to find a cheaper quote myself at renewal!

Thanks,
Kym

Try Budget :P

Or type Autotrader insurance on google, I\'m sure he\'d get a quote.

i found the best quote was off swindon insurance.
bell insurance always seem to be top of the internet search lists for the cheapest quotes. dont know what they are like if you do have a crash. i had alot of companies say they wont insure the car for theft untill the car was fitted with a tracker. tell him to be careful of that.

if does have any mods, make sure he doesn\'t have an induction kit....mine set me back £800 on insurance.

The other thing to do is get experience on a slightly underpowered rwd car, depends how deep his pockets are tho

He\'s nuts if he wants to get himself on a Supra at the age of 19! I bet insurance quotes (if he gets any at all) will be in the thousands of pounds.

Give A Plan a go.

Talking of nutters... a young guy I know, 19, got a Subaru Impreza.... currently paying over £3k a year for insurance!

You could try Noel Dazeley (their number is on this site) When i was 21 and owned an rx7 hardly anyone would insure me, but like you i went with bell, and ended up paying £2600 fully comp! that was until noel dazeley quoted me around £1000. Not sure how much it would be now i\'m 26 but i\'m guessing it will be a hell of a lot lower. Worth a try...

Ye autotrader is usually best for younger drivers.  Id try elephant to but i seem to remember anything over insurance group 16 you had to be 21+
