Title: Will i need a cat for the MOT?
Post by: T11MNM on April 24, 2008, 09:25:02 PM
I\'m taking my car (1994 Single Turbo FD) to WGT for a service and MOT at the end of month and am wondering if i\'ll need to source a cat for Pip to get it through the MOT?

Thanks and Regards

Tim

What do you have at the minute? i.e. straight through, sports cat, silenced midpipe??

I\'m not so sure, i think it\'s just a straight through, i\'ll need to tuck my head under the car.

if its an import then u wont need a cat test. fink it starts in 1995 for imports.
some mot garages dont know that though

Irrelavant whether it needs a cat test, you still have to pass the previous emissions test and even with a cat most rex\'s struggle to even pass the 3.5 and 1200 test let alone the new test....

dont get PIP to MOT it. i know a sympathetic rotary engineer trained at mazda.. He now owns a MOT testing station in Doncaster... that way even if you fail on something else you wont have to take it alllll that way to WGT.

timm whats your number mate?
